Beyond the first word.
Most of us think of witchcraft as that Halloween type witch, or maybe just as the scraggly, tattered old lady down the dead-end lane. Well, she could be, but most witches today are white witches. This does not refer to their color or any single another identifying mark. It’s just that they practice “white” magick (light magick) not the dark magick un-informed people think of when they are Conjuring up a witch in their mind.
Let’s look at reality, people have been using forms of magic, spells, and ceremonies from ancient times to modern, believing they’re a powerful way to manifest change in their lives. For instance, there are more spells in the Buddhist cannon that could not be found in the entire Hogwarts library, and for centuries Buddhist monks have mixed potions and cast spells.
Today, white magic, commonly practiced to create positive life changes, uses releasing spells and intention-setting ceremonies as potent forms of transformation. Here, there are no bubbling cauldrons, lizard tails or eye of newt. Think instead of natural stones, crystals, essential oils, scented candles, and a LOT of positivity.

4 Actions That Target Your Personal Growth
We all have areas where we want to improve; health, work, family, you name it. But reality sets in along with a busy schedule that doesn’t leave any space for quite a time, let alone individual development. We also rarely have the willpower we need to see it through. Or maybe we just don’t know where or how to start.
Not being able to define your own long-term goals will end up in a life that’s devoid of meaning or direction. You start losing that spark and the motivation to get up each morning wanes.
Experts define personal growth plan as “the process of creating an action plan based on awareness, values, reflection, goal-setting, and planning for personal development within the context of a career, education, relationship or for self-improvement.”
An individualized growth plan can help you achieve the vision you have of yourself. It’s something we need to consciously think about and strive toward. If you don’t plan your own development and growth, no one else will.
Here are 4 steps you can take for a well-developed, easy-to-implement, personalized plan.
1. Know Thyself
In order to plan for the future, you have to reflect on your past experiences, your weaknesses, and strengths; they’ve made you who you are today. You also have to clarify your own unique values, such as integrity, respect for others, leadership, honesty. Your values define your stance whether it’s at the workplace, with family and friends, and in your romantic relationships. Moreover, there are several important questions you have to ask yourself:
- What do I want to become in life?
- What are my achievements up until now?
- What are my personal goals?
- What are my career ambitions?
- What steps have I taken to pursue these goals and ambitions?
2. Develop your vision
Once you’ve asked and answered these questions, you’ll have a clear vision of who you are and what you want out of life. This takes us to the second step; developing your vision. A smart tip is to provide yourself with several options to reach your next goal.
That way, if something goes wrong or you face an obstacle, you can switch to another path. Be flexible in your planning because usually, people tend to underestimate how long a certain project will take.
Another point people tend to not pay attention to is what they don’t want to do. If you’re at work, you can make a list of what-not-to-do, for example:
- Check emails as soon as they come in
- Keep too many tabs open at once
- Keep a cell phone on your desk
- Check social media while you’re working
3. Assess your present-day situation
Implementing your plan can be difficult at first. But with dedication and an eye on the prize, you’ll soon find that it becomes a daily habit. It was Jim Ryum who said, “Motivation is what get you started. Habit is what keeps you going.”
Putting your strengths to good use will harness your energy levels so that it’s utilized efficiently. You can set up milestones along the way because smaller goals give you the motivation and drive you need to get to the big ones. And each time you reach a milestone or achieve one of the small goals, reward yourself for your hard work.
4. Review your progress
Each project needs to be reviewed and assessed, and your exclusive growth plan is no different. You can do it on a monthly basis, or every couple of months, whatever feels comfortable for you. But it’s crucial that you take a step back and look at all the hard work you’ve accomplished.
Check to see if you’ve left anything out or missed any deadlines. Or maybe the mini-goals you set up last time don’t fit your criteria any longer, they need tweaking or readjusting. Reflect on your experience and consider everything you’ve learned. This will ensure that you keep moving forward according with your long-term plan and the vision you’ve set up for yourself.
On a final note, you can draw up the perfect plan but if you don’t follow through, you won’t get anywhere. Everyone needs practice to develop and grow, even if it means stepping out of your comfort zone. Having something to strive toward can renew your self-confidence and passion for life.

Prevent and Manage Diabetes Burnout!
Managing diabetes can be a grueling daily task, due to having to monitor blood sugar levels, foods eaten, how much time spent exercising, and the medications that may need to be taken. This process can become stressful and too much for some people resulting in what is called a ‘diabetes burnout’.
When suffering from a diabetes burnout, many people often begin to seek a sense of freedom from their condition, and in doing so, generally, start to totally disregard their monitoring of diabetes.
People often fall into a bad state of mind after dealing with the condition for years as they are frustrated with the day to day upkeep that comes with diabetes. This can start with just guessing levels of blood sugars and skipping medications to them then stop monitoring blood sugar levels completely, avoiding appointments, falling into unhealthy habits and stopping medications completely.
Diabetes Burnout Can Lead to Psychological Problems
People suffering from a diabetes burnout will often go through a range of emotions. Many psychological changes will happen in this state including a feeling of helplessness, anxiety, and depression.
In these situations, they may be suffering from a hypoglycemic episode, low blood sugar, from not monitoring their levels. In a hypoglycemic state, some people may become fatigued or foggy and dazed although in some cases it can make them aggressive. If left untreated this state could lead to a diabetic coma.
Tips to Manage and Prevent Diabetes Burnout
Managing and preventing this from happening to you can be done in multiple ways.
Some of these include:
” Meals: Keeping things fresh by trying new recipes or incorporating different foods into your diet can be helpful in stopping your diabetes management from becoming a grueling task and put a bit more variety in your life.
” Physical activity: Trying new exercise routines or changing a walking route for your daily physical activity can be a good way to prevent a burnout and keep things interesting. Joining a gym, trying a boot camp or exercising with friends or family can also be helpful.
” Stress: Getting rid of unnecessary stress in your life is a great way to help prevent a burnout. Added stress on top of already managing your condition may send you over the edge and into a burnout. Identifying what is causing your stress and finding ways to eliminate them if possible can be a great start.
Bottling away stress can only make it worse. Finding ways to de-stress including reading, painting, drawing or just relaxing in a park or a nice warm bath can help you to feel better.
” Mental health: Talking about your situation over with friends and family is also a great way to try and clear your head of bad thoughts and stressful circumstances. If you find you are not coping with the upkeep of monitoring your levels or taking your medication it is best to seek professional help whether it be from your doctor or a psychologist to talk through your situation.
” Pat yourself on the back: Give yourself some credit. You are managing a lifelong disease and have been doing so well. Try not to aim for perfect levels and just accept the ones you get, good or bad. There is nothing you can do to change them after they’re done, just learn from the mistakes you made whether it is a certain food you ate or not getting enough exercise that day. Instead of labeling the readings as good or bad, try labeling them as in range and out of range, as this may help you feel less guilty of the outcomes.
” Join a support group: Check with your healthcare provider if there are any community support groups in your area for people suffering from diabetes. If there are no community groups there are various online support groups to help you manage and talk through your situation to try to help bring back some motivation.

Can Type 2 Diabetes Affect Your Mental Health?
Managing type 2 diabetes can be stressful and overwhelming at times and may take a toll on your mental health. As this condition is largely self-managed, you are ultimately responsible for your day to day care and management of your diabetes.
Having to deal with this condition daily can be tiring and take a lot out of you emotionally and mentally. There is an increased risk of mental health disorders, such as anxiety and depression, if you have diabetes and these issues need to be taken seriously.
Statistics show that up to 50 percent of diabetics have either or both of these disorders. These disorders can make it harder to manage daily care.
Anger and Denial
Having a variety of emotions when diagnosed with type 2 diabetes is completely normal. People can expect to have a range of negative emotions like fear, anger, denial, and hopelessness. Often people go through the same stages of emotions as they would in a grieving process. Anger and denial are usually the first stages to go through as they don’t want to acknowledge that they have diabetes.
People often become angry because of things like them feeling it is unfair that they have been diagnosed and friends or family who do the same as they do haven’t. Denial is another emotion that is common after diagnosis.
Many people refuse to believe that they have diabetes, although they need to come to the realization that they do as soon as possible, as it is an illness that cannot be ignored. There is always a natural fear that occurs with illness or serious condition as it is our body’s way of processing the news.
Any fears about diabetes should be voiced to your healthcare professional after diagnosis to put your mind at ease. There may be a sense of hopelessness when diagnosed but diabetes can be managed and is treatable. These are all completely normal emotions to feel when first diagnosed although in the long term these feelings can turn into depression, anxiety, and other psychological disorders.
Depression
Depression is a serious mental health issue and it’s not just a state of sadness or feeling down. This condition can make life difficult in many ways including making daily tasks and activities feel almost impossible.
Depression not only affects your mental health but also your physical health. Being diagnosed with type 2 diabetes can double your risk of developing depression and this can be quite serious as it can lead to poor care of your diabetes.
Diabetics who are diagnosed with depression do not usually manage their condition well. Diabetes can be an overwhelming condition with having to continually control blood sugar levels and keep on top of meals and exercise. People with depression do not cope well under these pressures and may feel unmotivated to control the condition.
Research has shown that taking charge of your depression can significantly enhance the controls of your blood sugar levels, moods, and overall wellbeing.
Anxiety
People with type 2 diabetes can also suffer from anxiety and constant worry, due to issues that may arise, such as the potential for further complications and seeing bad blood sugar readings. Type 2 diabetics who are insulin dependent or require medications may also feel anxious when in public as they worry about what others think about them injecting insulin or taking tablets.
Anxiety also has some similar symptoms to having a hypoglycemic episode, or also known as a low blood sugar response. These symptoms include excessive sweating, trembling and an elevated heart rate. Anxiety, just like depression, also affects you physically not just mentally.
It is vital to seek professional help if you feel you have any sort of mental or physical disorders as your mental health is essential when you have diabetes.
Eating a healthy balanced diet and participating in physical activities including walking, sports or a gym can not only be good for your diabetes but is also a great tool to help your mental wellbeing.

Breaking the Habit…
When you really think about it, most of life is something we do out of habit. From the moment we wake up in the morning to the actions we take throughout the day – our “morning routine”, or “regular breakfast”, our “typical commute”, the “daily grind” at work – the habits we develop literally control about 95% our actions. These types of unconscious thoughts determine what we think, how we feel and how we behave in Breaking The Habit early every situation we find ourselves in.

There will always be times when you are lying awake at night unable to sleep, or staring out the window aimlessly at work, when you are still wondering what is to become about a particular situation. That’s called being human. But we all have a little psychic in us, which also makes us human. It’s a gift we all received when we were in our initial soul circle before our souls began to incarnate into human beings. The fixed sign of the Water signs, Scorpio is one of the most psychic zodiac signs of all. With Scorpio energy so abundant right now, you have the perfect opportunity to lead with your feelings, tap into that inner psychic, and find out more about the things that are keeping you up at night. Here are 9 ways to do just that, using the powerful tool of astrology and the mysteries of the Universe, no matter what your zodiac sign is.
- Work on Your Dream Recall.
We say it over and over again, but dreams and their meanings are very important to your psychic development. Dreams bear messages. Your twin soul will also appear to you in dreams to communicate.
When you go to bed, keep your mind clear of alcohol or substances and tell yourself that you are going to dream that night. Then see what you have to enter into your dream journal the next morning. Use our Dream Dictionary to help you understand your dreams and their meanings, and see what the Universe and the angels are trying to tell you about what is next in your life.
- Free Your Mind. No Really.
The most important part of receiving psychic information is to have a clear mind. You may have seen a psychic close their eyes for a moment before reading you. That is a process where the astrologers or psychics are emptying their minds of their own thoughts and feelings and opening up to receive information about you. This is an important step for any person trying to tap into their inner psychic.
If your mind is full of your own individual hopes and fears, you will not receive accurate information, it will be muddled in between all of your hopes and fears. So, spend a moment or two of every day when you want to tap into your inner psychic, and just release it all from your mind for a moment.
Meditation is a great way to open up this clarity while emptying your mind of negative or unwanted thoughts. You will find that releasing negative thoughts is actually quite liberating. Not only does it create more room for psychic information, but you free yourself from fears, negativity, and thoughts or stress that literally weigh you down.
- Listen.
Being psychic is a passive gift, it is about the receipt of information. It is not about injecting your own ego and desires into the situation. Whether you are reading yourself or someone else, listening is the biggest key.
If you choose to meditate to receive information, quiet your mind and listen to what is coming, and what is not. The same goes for other people in your daily life. What are they saying? What are they not saying? This will be an important gift of telepathy as you develop it with practice, you will intuitively discover what people are not saying.
Telepathy is not as rare as you might think. Imagine how much clarity you would receive about a lover or job situation if you could connect with someone else’s thoughts, with their permission of course. When you do, uncertainty leaves and freedom arrives. But rather than feeling stressed and demanding answers from the Universe, listening opens you up to actually receiving the right ones.
- Trust Your Gut. Trust.
That’s what it’s all about, baby! But we often doubt our Selves when it comes to tapping into that psychic gift we all have. Trust your gut! Actually trust it. Your instinct and your gut and your intuition are all the same thing. A good psychic or Astrologer has a finely-honed instinct that gives them a solid sense of “knowing” about something before it has even happened. It’s not a guessing. It’s a knowing.
You can tell the difference between your fears and hopes and your instinct by this state of knowing. We always question our hopes and fears, but we never question our instinct, even when we question it. It always feels like a knowing. “I feel like I should not go down that alley at night but I’m not sure why.” Pay attention to every little feeling, and you will begin to learn what messages your instinct is telling you. The more you do that, the more you improve your own psychic gifts.
- Pay Attention to Your Physical Reactions.
Do you feel the hair on the back of your neck stand up when you are alone? Have you ever felt your stomach turn when someone was talking to you and you suspected they were lying? Does your heart race when someone that has hurt you enters the room? Do the back of your ears get red when you see someone you don’t like, but you don’t really know why?
This is all your inner psychic talking to you through physical sensations in your body. If you ever are unsure about a specific situation or person, stop and think about what your body is telling you. If you feel excited and warm, all systems go. If you feel icky and weird but aren’t sure why, that’s your angels and intuitions sending you very strong messages through your physical and mortal soul. Pay attention!
- Take Actual Notes.
Whether you are keeping a dream journal to record all of the messages that come to you in your dreams, or whether you simply have something in your bag on your day out and about activities, taking notes regularly is a sure-fire way to rapidly strengthen your psychic abilities. Keep a notepad right by your bed and start jotting things down from the minute you wake up. As the zodiac detective, Scorpio takes notes on EVERYthing.
If you experience funny coincidences during the day, or little signs that seem to stand out, write them down. You may know right away what they mean, or you may not. By writing them down, you have something to refer to later when you are wondering what one thing or another means.
It is a great way to see stuff that comes to you coming true or manifesting, as many times we don’t realize that is what is happening until it has already happened. It’s amazing when you come to these notes, weeks, months, or years later, and see so many validations come to life.
- Get in the Practice of Meditation.
A lot of people know that this is a very reliable way to get psychic information, but not many people take the time to get into this. Meditation is really just the art of dreaming while you are awake, the same neural processes happen in the brain. You breathe slowly enough to the point where you can clear your head, and then wait for the psychic messages to arrive. You are conscious through information reception, so recall is much easier than dream recall.
Meditation is much simpler than people make it out to be. It’s literally just the process of clearing your mind. With practice, you can learn how to meditate in as little as 30 seconds. The emptier your mind is, the more information will come.
This is why meditation is so powerful to psychics and astrologers. It gives you an empty mind for an extended period of time which means during that time you get powerful information. It was the biggest tool that psychic Edgar Cayce used in all of his readings, without it, he would not have become one of the world’s most famous psychics.
- Test Your Hunches & Intuitions.
Ever say, “I had a feeling you were going to call,” or, “I had a feeling that was going to happen.” You’re probably psychic! You are already in the process of understanding the knowledge that comes to you and validating them for what they are. The more you notice them, the more they will come. Test them.
One method I use in testing my clairvoyant activities is by predicting what Tarot Cards are going to come out when I do a reading. I get my hunch about the answer and then visualize the card that I will draw to validate that, and then I pull the card. Even after so many years of Tarot use, it STILL freaks me out (in a good way) when the card I “saw” in my head gets flipped over in my reading.
This is how you test your hunches, and you don’t need a full working knowledge of the Tarot to do so. Say you are having lunch with a friend, and you know they will listen to music on the way. While you are waiting, visualize or think about the music group or song they are listening to. Your first hunch will be the right one. When they arrive, ask them if they were listening to The Rolling Stones or Adele like your hunch suggested, and with practice, you will become more right every time. As you use this new skill more, you can use it effectively in day to day life.
Here’s another example. Say you are worried someone isn’t telling the truth in a scenario. Ask your Self to show you what is the truth, like you just did with the Tarot cards. You will surprise even yourself what comes up. Use it, but don’t abuse it, as until you have those hunches validated, that’s all they are.
- Practice, Practice, Practice.
Tapping into your psychic abilities is a skill like anything else. Yes, it is a gift, but with every gift that you receive, you must use it wisely in order to make the most of it. With a psychic gift, you must practice it regularly in order to experience the most results. This does not mean you have to meditate for 10 hours a day (unless you can and you want to).
A few minutes every day of clearing your mind and allowing your intuition, your meditation, and Universal energy to give you information beyond what is being given, is all you need to truly tap into and develop your psychic skills. Practice, practice, practice whatever method is the easiest for you, and then report back and let us know how it went! Frequently using your Tarot cards is another good way to develop this gift. The Tarot never lies!
